Made from reclaimed/re-purposed insulators~15 Authentic Vintage Glass Insulators
Repurposed Heat Grate plate measures 16"W.
A repurposed vintage heavy duty iron hook & jute rope are used for the hook system.
UL approved hardware is always used to create our fixtures.
This fixture hangs from a vintage iron hook, we can either make it a swag style & add a plug and switch, or you can leave it with just the wires for a direct hard wire. Please add a note at checkout of your choice.
Measuring: 34" from bottom of the heat grate to the bottom of the longest insulator hanging.
Overall, from hook down to the bottom of longest hanging insulator is 50"

BULBS are Not Included with the fixture. UL approved porcelain sockets are rated at 75W MAX.
Choice of bulbs is up to the buyer, some like them very small and up inside the glass so they can emit light through the glass, others like the bulbs to be sticking out of the bottom. It's a matter of preference but we recommend cool burning to reduce any issues with excessive heat.
One type of bulb we recommend is:

Glass insulators are no longer manufactured. Some glass insulators are over 100 years old. Each one is unique. Glass insulators are relics of an old technology found mostly along old rail and abandoned telegraph lines; they have a historical significance to the telecom industry worldwide. The oldest insulators pre-date the Civil War and were produced until the 1970's. Insulators are VERY collectible & some are even a century or more old.
